Do you have a content sharing process?
So… I got a request to post content from my ED and it seems like they think it’s urgent. But it’s an email newsletter from an organization I’ve never heard of, I don’t know why they want me to post it, and there’s no good way to link to it on social media. I am not even sure if our audience needs this.
Sound familiar? What about:
Our organization just got attacked on social media for our stance around Black Lives Matter and we want our constituents to know we’re in full support. We need to get out a statement we recently issued across social media right now as a response to show our history of support and re-up our commitment in a big way.
If you don’t have a process in place to deal with these situations, it may be worth a meeting with your team to figure it out. We have a template prepared for you to do just that.
Set up roles, list out your channels, talk about what’s really an urgent need and what’s made up urgency, and make commitments to a set process. Have fun with it.
